PRAYER POWER
Prayer is one of those spiritual disciplines that most Christians know they should have but few really practice. If we wonder why we don't see the power of God like that which was seen in the gospels and in the book of Acts perhaps we should stop and ask ourselves why. Could "the sin which doth so easily beset us," be prayerlessness?
How do we change this? Do we add more prayer meetings? Do we do some spiritual arm twisting to get people to spend more time and effort to pray only to see that after a feeble attempt at this vital practice people default to their previous condition? What is the answer?
Valley Victory Church is on a quest to bring prayer back to the center of all activity. We know that if we try to increase prayer by will power we will fail. Although our will in the matter of prayer is important, it is really an "abiding" issue. Prayer is the natural language of an intimate relationship with Jesus Christ. We realize that surrendering to the grace of God through a real and continual abiding relationship with Christ is the key that unlocks our hearts, our faith and our prayers.
Our goal is to help rekindle the fires of this relational, first love connection and to unlock the power of prayer over our lives, our families, our churches, our leaders, and our world.
Our prayer is that Jesus would teach us to pray, fervent, effective, faith-filled prayers.
We will be outlining, through simple devotions and prayer passages, a course that will hopefully help us on this quest of intimacy and efficacy in relationship and prayer.
Starting April 27th, Pastor Dave Beaulieu will start a series on "Prayer Power - Grace in Action."
Journey with us as we set our hearts to learning the secrets and power of prayer.
